What is a CLIA Card? Will I receive a CLIA card?


CLIA stands for Cruise Line International Association. CLIA assigns an identifying number to their Travel Agency members. To qualify you must be an active agent in good standing with Xstream Travel and must have completed your Xstream University Training and your new Agent Checklist. 

In order to receive a CLIA card you need to become a member of CLIA and request an ID card. The retail price of a CLIA membership for agents is $115, but as an agent with Xstream Travel, you only pay $65 yearly membership fee.

CLIA Eligibility Requirements & Conditions 

  • Visit www.cruising.org and create a new CLIA account to access their website. Click Register 

  • Fill out the registration form 

  • You will need to upload your picture of yourself for your Embarc Card 

  • Company Affiliation: Enter Xstream’s name or CLIA number. We will come up and you click on add affiliation. Primary Affiliation. You have now created your CLIA agent profile. You are not a member yet! 

  • Click on Join/Renew 

  • Click on Individual Agent Member 

  • Pay the reduced fee because we are a Premier Agency 

  • Your card will be mailed directly to you. Be sure you put in your mailing address.

Please know only one account holder per Xstream Travel account, and only the account owner, is authorized for the CLIA card. If you have a family member or spouse that would like to apply for their CLIA card, first they must enroll as an agent at www.xstreamtravel.com. Next, they can submit their CLIA application and pay the registration fee by following the directions above. 

IATAN


What is an IATA card? Will I receive IATA card?

The International Airlines Travel Agent Network/IATAN, is a non-profit organization that assists travel agents in meeting and maintaining a specific set of standards that are of value to airlines, the travel agency community, and consumers. The identifying number assigned to a Travel Agency is an IATA number. 

Once you earn your IATA card you will receive a card with Xstream's IATA on it. You will not be given a new number as you are still an IC with Xstream Travel. This photo ID contains your name, unique identification number, the name of your agency and numeric code prominently embossed on the surface. You can earn an IATA card, provided you meet IATAN eligibility requirements. The fee for your card is $40.00 for a first time new ID card or $35.00 to renew.
